Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
MockMate is an AI-powered interview platform operated by Devansh Bhargava (referred to as "MockMate", "we", "us"). For anything related to this policy, contact devansh04356@gmail.com or WhatsApp +91 84488 01553.
2. What this policy covers
This policy applies to three groups of people:
- Website visitors — anyone browsing this site;
- Customers — hiring teams and job seekers with a MockMate account;
- Candidates — people who receive an interview link and record answers on MockMate.
3. Information we collect
From website visitors:
- Details you type into our contact/demo/signup forms: name, email, company, and any notes. These are delivered to our inbox through FormSubmit, a form-relay service.
- Anonymous, aggregated visit statistics (page views, country, device type) through Vercel Web Analytics, which does not use cookies and does not identify individual visitors.
- The chat assistant on this site runs entirely in your browser — your chat messages are not transmitted to or stored on any server.
From customers: account details (name, email), the roles and job descriptions you create interviews for, your question sets, and billing records.
From candidates: when you take an interview on MockMate, we collect your name and email (as provided by you or the inviting company), video and audio recordings of your answers, transcripts of those answers, AI-generated scores and written feedback, and interview-integrity events (such as tab switches, fullscreen exits, or copy-paste attempts) together with timing information.
4. How we use this information
- To run the interview: record answers, transcribe them, and generate AI scores and written feedback;
- To show results to the hiring team that created the interview, including integrity reports;
- To generate role-specific interview questions from job descriptions;
- To respond to demo requests, support questions and signups;
- To bill customers and maintain accounts;
- To understand overall website traffic (aggregate analytics only).
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use interview recordings for advertising.
5. AI processing
MockMate uses OpenAI's services to power its AI features: GPT models generate interview questions and score answers, and Whisper transcribes recorded audio. Interview content (job descriptions, transcripts, and audio for transcription) is sent to OpenAI's API for processing. Under OpenAI's API terms, this data is not used to train their models. AI scores are assistive: they are always accompanied by the full transcript and recording so a human can verify them.
6. Where data is stored and how it is protected
Recordings, transcripts and platform data are stored in secure cloud infrastructure (including Google Firebase). All data moves over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Access to interview results is restricted to the account that created the interview; results are shared outward only through private report links that the account owner chooses to generate. Nothing is public by default.
7. Who we share data with
Only with services needed to operate MockMate, and only to the extent required:
- OpenAI — question generation, answer scoring, transcription;
- Google Firebase — storage and authentication;
- Vercel — website hosting and anonymous analytics;
- FormSubmit — delivering website form submissions to our inbox;
- Razorpay — payment processing when you buy a plan (card/UPI details go directly to Razorpay; we never see or store them);
- The hiring team that invited you — if you are a candidate, your recordings, transcripts, scores and integrity report are visible to the company that sent you the interview link;
- Authorities — if required by law.
8. If you are a candidate
- Interviews only begin after you grant camera and microphone permission — recording never starts silently, and the interview cannot proceed without your consent.
- Your answers, scores and integrity report are visible to the hiring team that invited you (and anyone they share their private report link with). Other candidates can never see your results.
- The company that invited you decides how long your interview results are kept for their hiring process. To have your recordings deleted, contact that company, or write to us directly at devansh04356@gmail.com and we will coordinate the deletion.
9. How long we keep data
Interview recordings, transcripts and scores are kept while the customer's account remains active, or until the customer deletes them. Contact-form submissions are kept as ordinary business email. When an account is closed, its interview data is deleted within a reasonable period, except where we must retain records for legal or billing reasons.
10. Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (and the GDPR where it applies), you can:
- Ask what personal data we hold about you and receive a copy;
- Ask us to correct inaccurate data;
- Ask us to delete your data, including interview recordings;
- Withdraw consent for future processing;
- Raise a grievance about how your data has been handled.
To exercise any of these, email devansh04356@gmail.com with the subject "Data request". We aim to respond within 7 days and to resolve requests within 30 days.
11. Cookies
This website does not set advertising or tracking cookies. Our analytics (Vercel Web Analytics) is cookie-free and aggregate-only. The MockMate platform uses only the cookies strictly necessary for signing in and keeping your session secure.
12. Age
MockMate is intended for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18; if you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, for material changes affecting customers, notify account holders by email.
